10 of us set out in perfect conditions for what was to be mainly a day of Wreck fishing. Not my favourite pastime but better than Gardening lol.
Fishing was patchy all day but we persevered, picking up the odd fish on each drift. The big difference to my recent hard ground trips was in the quality of Fish as opposed to the quantity of smaller ones on the Ground.
We had Cod up to 13lb +, some really good Ling, and quite a few almost double figure Cod. A few Mackies showed along with Whiting and a lone Wolf Fish but the bulk of the Catch were Cod & Ling.
The tally was around 50 good quality Keepers. I had 7 Cod, including fish of approximately 9lb,8lb & 6lb plus a small Ling.
Lost a monster that I couldn't get off the bottom at all and eventually snapped my Line.
So another good day on Catch 22 with Skipper Bob on his own today, run off his feet Gaffing fish & doing the Tea/Coffee duties too. Great Boat.
