Yet another trip on the good ship sea spray on a less than perfect forecast ( a touch too much n/ne wind) coupled to a big tide.
the day started off having a go over some inshore wrecks up to and over slack water, which turned up a few fish for all, but due to conditions the drift and lines were flying, so a move to some of the rough ground marks ensued.
The tide was just starting to get away big time so after a couple of hours and only the odd fish to show for our efforts, everyone was feeling a little bit deflated, and talk of getting 1/2 day in and retiring to the watering hole was being mentioned by most.
After a quick discussion, it was decided to work our way back in slightly, and try a few more wreck marks on route.
On arrival it was noted the tide seemed to have eased away slightly, so down went all manners of rigs.
as soon as the bait / shads touched bottom, BANG most rods were in to codling averaging 5--6 lb with a spattering of ling thrown in.
This continued for 1 1/2 hrs till the tide was away again, but during this time we managed a reasonable haul.
I only took pics of the fish i had, as everyone else filleted theirs on the way in,so i have attached that.
All my fish were caught on either blue storm shads, or calcutta Flashfoil Shads (Crossbones Firetail )
over all not a bad day given conditions
