  • Shady - 7th June 2008

Bert, Kyle, Jason & myself out on Shady this morning.

Bit of a slow start early on at the usual place and a slight mishap with a net full of stella (Sorry you had to serve Brekkie twice Normam, much appreciated as always!)

Dunno why we ever bothered with that net, it's great fun juggling fish on top of the water

Bert soon worked his magic and found the fish at location XX2 Jason was using his new Greys rod and more than christened it.

The best of canny haul this one about 7.5lb

After yet another slow start (don't think I'm an early morning angler lol) I also managed a canny one my new rod.

11lb4oz - great fun on a geet skinny rod.

Total catch, 27 cod, 2 ling & a catfish (new species for Jason )

    Cracking morning!!!! Cheers Bert!!!!

Forgot to say, great to see Boblydon out there on Tri-Tech, hope she performed well and you bagged a few fish.

There must be nearly enough nesa boat owners for a fun comp now
      Cheers, Keith.

N1 Lads we would have been out but needed to mow the lawn on pansy and put some of the slates back on the roof

Jason was told in no uncertain terms to leave all the smelly smoggy stuff on Teeside

If he didn't already know, he does now, you need a thick skin to fish with the Shady crew all light hearted fun & great banter.
            Cheers, Keith.

                  guys

very many thanks for the day out today although it was a bit earlier than i am used to. Absolutely cracking day, boat, weather, fish and most of all the company.

With regards to the thick skin we all have it down here it stops the toxic poison getting into the blood stream.

Could not get over the fact that i was chatting with bert about me never catching a catfish and he said we sometimes get them from this area and low and behold ........woop ya fooka.

Again thanks guys - just hope i dont have to wait another 5 years for a trip out.

Species this year are now dab, plaice, mackeral, rockling, pouting, pollack, coalie, cod, ling, whiting and a cat fish - so half way towards the target set at the begining of the year.

                  Jason

Chuffed to bits you had a great day Jason, pretty sure Bert was too when you told him you have a new PB

I can't believe it's 5 years since Bert put a post up here on NESA saying there were 2 places going spare on The Boys and you me & the distractor turned up. I'd never seen a ling till that day, wish I had a quid for every lb of lead I've deposited since then .
                    Cheers, Keith.

Just a quicky cos i dont want to hijack the post! I had my first trip out aboard The Boys on saturday, thought we were going to get a soaking cos it was lashing down at 3am when dragged my ass out of the pit! Had a cracking day out and and upped my PBs, biggest codling was 6.5lb and i was buzzing with that, caught plenty around the 3-4lb mark and even got my first ling even though it was only a tiddler at around 2lb. Caught the biggest Pout that ive ever seen! Sorry i couldnt hang around for a few more beers lads cos i was dying to rib Kyle about trying to shake Keiths cod off! Well done Keith on that by the way, cracking fish. Good luck for next weekend lads.
