Decided if it was gonna happen today it needed to be early.......didn't quite make it out as early as originally planned but still afloat by 6.30 into a glorious morning and lovely sea.......shame it didn't last!
Stuck to the hard ground all morning, for the first 2 hours must have put back 20 fish all under 2lb, in desperation for a fish supper decided to keep the next 2 pan size fish...... Then got hit by a good fish, couldn't stop it taking line, either a very good fish or a decent one tail hooked....lost it only to find hook trace had parted, must have had a nick in it! nothing to do with my knots of course.
Ended up with 8 keepers, biggest 2 around 6lb, fishing went very quiet around 12ish and with the sea picking up decided to call it a day and head in for a cuppa.
New rod christened and plenty of fish still on the ground marks!!

you were lucky to get out early when it was like silk, we went out when the wind was picking up
