Bert, Jim and myself this morning, met up mid morning (6am) so out fishing for about 6.30am. Crab, squid, bluey and ragworm for bait we stopped just off the pier. The skipper chose to fish with a pirk which I found strange as we did very well with the crab last week, as usual he was bang on, boating fish every drop so it wasn't long before the copy cats joined in. Fishing was fantastic with hard fighting fish scrapping away. Once the arms were aching (not long for me) we switched to the bait and the steady fishing continued.

Eventually after spotting a slight fuel leak we headed in to sort it out about 10am. We had 54 cod in a very healthy looking fish box, Bert was top man with 21.

Fantastic morning, big thanks as ever to Catering crew, beer suppliers and skipper for a top morning.

Yes it was a great mornings fishing ! Thanks to Norman and Tony for brecky great stuff ! We had fish from the first drift till the last awsome fishing at such close distance to shore , the first drift as Keith says a had a pirk on and it never touched the bottom and a nice 3lber came aboard and this was the same drop after drop ,i was watching the bait versus lure and when the bait was starting to look better then i changed over, there is a lot of fish close in at the moment so long may it continue ,well i can now officially anounce that the SEASON HAS STARTED and long may it continue thanks to Keith and Jim for the company and help today
The sleepless friday nights are well and truly underway
                          Cheers Bert
