  • Karm catch Report Sunday 4th May 2014

Bert and myself fished a SSBAC comp this morning, 8am till 1pm.

Set off with a good supply of frozen and fresh crab and squid, didn't need to go far for Bert to work his magic. The codling were going daft for the crab at our first location just off the north pier. Great fighting fish that felt like they were double the size they turned out to be.

As the tide edge met us the fish went off the boil so we had a short move off the south pier, again the cod were lapping up the crab and these fish were a better stamp.

When the crap finally ran out we ended up with 32 codlings between us, most about the 3lb mark with a few better ones thrown in.

That was enough to get me 1st place with a 48lb bag and Bert second place with a 44lb bag. Bert took the heaviest fish with a cod over 6lb

Great mornings fishing, thanks as ever mate.

Note to self, 6 mordue brewery ales, 2 ciders and 6 glasses of wine are not the best prep for a morning's fishing
    Cheers, Keith.

Well done, a extra two days settled weather seems to have put the fishing right again.

We tried the off shore wrecks well off this week and they are dead apart from odd pollack and small codling...inshore seems to be much better.

bit of bear money for you two then

No Chris, all on the drift, it got a bit swift at times when we were in the tide.
              Cheers, Keith.
