  • 20lb Cod For Mistress - Whitby

The fishing has been hotting up here at whitby recently with some great days at sea.

The icing on the cake has been the Cod we got over 20lb the other day on a shad for one of our regulars, Mike Dearing from Beverley.

Mike is currently leading the WCSA spring competition. with a £1000 up for grabs for the heaviest fish of the event, plus daily prizes totaling £100 per day

Other notable catches include many fish in the 5-8lb bracket for our lads

Adam Grieves from Whitby got this Cod over 8lb and took top spot in the dailys

Russ also fished with Adams party from Whitby Angling Supplies and got a nice Cod

Mike Kilheeney got this stunning coloured Ballan Wrasse with us the other day

    Cheers

That poor wrasse, his eyes were all boggled when he came up similar to that of a pout, its quite possibly the best wrasse we've had on board now, it would of been 3-4lb. We saw a number of them last year too.

It is held out for the camera, but I personally think fish photos are about the fish and should get them looking as good as you can for the photo.
Theres nothing worse than seeing a fish in the middle of large frame, it does nothing for the picture at all!
