  • Phantom 1_a day of 4 seasons

    Hi Lads,
After a slow start on Thursday, 3 mates, came out and bagged 1 ling and 14 cod, although the water is still murky the fish came in on baited rippers with shads only taking 2 of the fish. biggest was 7-1/2lb with a few 3 x 5's and 3 x 6's the rest were 2 & 3lb

With that trip behind us, we headed out today with a bit of uncertainty with tides and weather.

Well what a day of changing weather, same 3 lads, we had it all but the white stuff today, with rain, winds from the south and north, sunshine, fog.

The block tides didn't help, but we hit a few fish regardless, again rippers the main captors.

With over 50 codling, biggest ones were 6lb a few small ones 1-3/4 but some nice sized codling, making decent bags up for the lads. majority of the fish were caught in the morning with the wind and tides giving us little drift and going all over the place as the day went on.

the forecast is looking favorable towards the weekend, so here's hoping the season has started and we can follow up on todays sport.

    Paul

      Hi Mark,
a steady start on the 2 seshs, with these tides,

I prefer them bigger for the drift. Thursday was hard work really, having to dodge about picking odd ones up, but eventually making a decent catch.

today was hectic in the morning, then dropped off picking odd ones up as the tide wasn't moving and the winds playing havoc, then they started to come back on at the end of the day, we were inshore mainly today, we were all over the place on Thursday.
Get her juiced up tomorrow ready Friday........... can't wait.

Well done mate. Great to see a fantastic catch. I'd be telling porkies if a little part of me wasn't hoping that there would be no big catches this week, as if all had worked out this would have been our week down there. You have blown that warped hope out the water in one fell swoop!

Good on you, but leave some for our summer sojourn please!
