Tuesday was a good day weather wise so decided to make the most of it and have a few hours out in the boat. Left Amble Marina about 12.45 and headed north. Got as far as Seaton Shad and Boulmer Stile and decided to give it a go for mackerel. Lots of mackerel about but mainly on the small side apart from 2 the rest went back in. The big surprise was the number of cod about, not what I expected. I was picking up small codling most of the afternoon. Ended up keeping 3 about the 4 lb mark that are now in the freezer. Got back into the Marina about 16.45 after a really great afternoon out.
