Well made the 400 mile trip tp durness on 19/07 to fish the sat and sunday. 5 anglers set out on the sat in search of the haddies.the haddies must have heard we were coming, because only 2 or 3 were there along with mackarel dogfish gurnard and dabs!!! 2 minkie whales played around the boat for most of the day, moving as we did. Sunday the wind was up a wee bit as we headed north to cape wrath for a crack at the pollock.started off with the dreaded mackarel, then jumbo coalies,THEN all hell let loose for about 3 hours with good size pollock, with some returned some lost on the way up and some lost at the boat!!! the tide changed and it pretty well died, with just a few stray fish taken!!! was it worth the 800 miles return trip---YIP

800 miles is a long way to go for a weekend fishing trip, you're certainly keen. Do you know what the shore fishing is like for pollock up there? We've given up on Skye, another 400 mile each way trip but with diminishing returns over the last few years.
