  • Lazy Daze saturday catch report

Launched 8am into a nice calm sea at Cullercoats, and headed for the can area and chucked the anchor over into only 30ft of water, so was only a few hundred yds of whitley beach. Straight away the rod banged over, a very light rod baited one hook with lug, the other with cooked prawn, with the fish around 3lb taking the prawn.

Dropped it back down and started setting up the other rod, when it banged over again, this time with two small codlings

Now fishing two rods, it was hectic to say the least, reeling one rod in, while stopping to strike the other one as it's banging away, this time a wrasse

By 11am, i'd run out of bait, so headed home to fillet and wash the boat down which was looking like a scene from Sycho.
Kept 12 fish, but must have returned 25 or so fish consisting of codling, wrasse, Pollock, coalie, and pouting.

Good to see a lazy days report again. Totally got my tactics wrong on Saturday, was very tempted to anchor up close in and have my first uptiding session of the year. Wish I had now!! Bet you planned on a relaxing few hours on a pleasant day with a few fish as a bonus, sounds more like a day at work in the end!!

Thanks lads, just needed a good kick up the chuf and a hectic session to let me realise what I'd be missing.
