Another trip out with Douggie. Things started very slowly with no mackerel showing and just the odd small cod coming up on hockeyes.
After a couple of hours and moving further out to escape rainwater we all hit on a good patch of Codlings and macky.
Best of the day was a 7 1/2 pounder to one of the lads called Richie. There was a 22 quid sweep for heaviest fish and also second heaviest fish. 14 quid went to Richie for the cod. Next biggest was to a lad called Cliffy who won a shoot out between me, Pierro, and one other. Cliffy got the 8 quid with a Codling of about 4 1/2 pound. Pierros came third only a few ounces behind.
Doug as usual tried his heart out for us.
One other thing was the amount of different species we had today. Red Gurnard, Horse Mackeral , Pouting, cod, coalie, Pollack,
