Five of us went on todays trip, started at 7am macky bashing and picking up odd codling to 5lb just beneath the cliffs at Boulby. Moved out to the first wreck where ling to 8lb were taken using mackeral baited pirks. Next wreck was a snaggy bugger so changed to flowing trace with macky flappers or whole squid, had plenty of drifts over this wreck taking ling to 11 1/2lb, a cod just over 10lb and a pollack of just under 5lb (P.B. pollack for me). Others on board were also catching ling around the same size including a 10 1/2lb P.B. for me cousin Tom. Drifted other wrecks taking smaller cod, ling and another pollack which were returned. Lots of pouting, small coalies and a couple of small gurnard, but suprisingly only a few whities thank God. All in all a great morning out.
Heres me 10lb cod n 11 1/2lb ling.
