The forcast looked great for today (Sunday)
So we left the lock gates at 7 am, their was a bit of a roll on the sea but a good forcast lay ahead and we decided to have a go at our first trip to skinningrove from hartlepool in our little reiver sportsman.
First drop down and we were straight in to the mighty cod , even managed to catch some on my newly made norway pirks The mackeral even put in an aperance.
We were having a cracking morning , then the wind picked up and it started getting choppyer, so we headed back for home .
Thing is their was'nt enough water to get to the lock so we had to anchor up for an hour, whilst the sea got even worse.
We fetched home a dozen or so cod up to 7lb and a few mackeral. Some of the smaller cod were put back and a load of mackeral went back with a lonely coalie.
Not the bigest or most fish in the world but I was happy , shame it could'nt have stayed flat for the day though.
Saw a boat get stuck coming out of the lock coz their was'nt enough water, they had to wait for the tide coming in a bit
Thumbs up for skinningrove though

The sea got even rougher than last Sunday, it was a canny treck back to hartlepool in the swell.
