A change of crew today with my mate Bigtel ( very excitable) aboard, and he loves mackerel, in fact at this time of year he has it every morning for breakfast... so it was a macky bashing session....

After a quick call off the piers and a few macky in the box, i decided to have a look up the old hunting ground around the Whitestones, followed there by a bit of a snotty southerly...

After only a couple of just size Pollock and weaver, returned to fight again, i recognised a boat that went past steaming to his secret mark, so as you do, you follow..

Was nice to see Dave and the missus ( Expert Boat Valetter) again after quite a while...

After a chat with Dave, and secretly admiring his boat , it was back to the original mark for a spot more macky bashing with a nice cod of around 4lb chucked in..... no pics as everyone knows what a 4lb cod looks like...

So in a nutshell today was about chilling out, good crack, putting the world to rights, getting sun burnt again, and meeting Dave and the missus again.. oh and a few fish as well..........life doesnt get any better....

Good to see you Chris, just got home after a full weekend on the boat, have to agree the weekend did lend itself to nice easy catch a few fish, a good deal of sun and as we stayed on the boat over night a couple of bottles of vino as the sun went down!! At one point I thought we were in the med, that was until our track suited fellow anglers vacated the pier and all seemed to think it was a good idea to have a wander around the marina on their way home......... I will stick a report up in a minute, did manage to find a few fish on that mark by the way!!
