  • Catch 22 26/6/13

We decided to go for an evening session to see if we could get some mackerel bashing done.
We had a party of seven anglers looking for a few hours of fun as at least 2 had never been fishing on a boat, after careful consideration we booked a 4 hour evening spell on the Catch 22 berthed at Sunderland Marina after speaking with the skipper 'Bob' it was arranged to depart at 16:30 hours, knowing that we had big tides and little was been caught off the wrecks Bob took us north of the harbour walls and drifted over hard ground. The sea was calm with a gentle breeze and it wasn't to long before the first Mackerel decided to join us, to be fair the fish were not coming in in vast amounts but everyone caught one or two at least, we changed locations several times and each time the fish came in, with a few cod of up to 3lb and a decent show of mackerel to be fair. A good 4 hours fishing was had by all.

The new lads had their experience of mackerel and both have vowed to return after going home with a positive buzz.

The Boat/Skipper, we were very impressed with the reception from the skipper, a food clean boat well handled with the safety of the anglers paramount. The teas/coffees made by Bob were graciously welcomed. The Boat, very clean with good space on deck, overall a very enjoyable evening that deserves positive comments.

We are looking forward to booking a full days fishing, hopefully when the wrecks start giving up some fish.

Bob is a top skipper. And a genuine bloke. Same goes for Bill his mate. If the fishings poor they'll be straight with you, and do there best to get you into something.
GET OUT THERE AND STICK A BAIT IN IT !!!
