Out at the normal starting time 7:00am
i had a party of anglers who wanted quality not quantity.
With the state of the fishing recently this was going to be a task.
However, we had a nice turn of sport with some really quality fishing
hit the first wreck and they were straight into fish with 3 nice fish coming up, 3, 3-1/2 and 5lb.
second and third drift produced single cods to 6-1/2 lb, these fell to assortment of hokkais, ripper and shad.
that wreck slackened so moved off a bit into slightly deeper and clearer water.
first drop produced 12-1/2 lb to one of my regulars withfurther drifts producing a steady stream of cod to 4 & 6 lb on consecutive drifts.
2 young ladies were into fish on this wreck and were very happy to catch there first cod.
moving off to no 3 we hit a couple of double figure cod with a PB for both anglers, fish weighed in at 12 and 14lb.
the fishing dropped right off over slack water for about 2 hours so we doubled back on he earlier wrecks which threw a few further
cod up 2 -3lb and another double right on 10lb giving a good days fishing for the party witha total of 21 keepers including 4 double figure cod.
these fish were fighting from the sea bed right to the net.
no mackeral showed nor did i pick any bait balls up, but the trawls are picking them up offshore, so a bit of settled weather we might see them sooner than later.
all in all a very happy party with a supper to take home for the family and relatives
lets see how the weather holds up for later in the week.
anyone fancy a trip please call.
cheers
