  • Lazy Daze catch post

Launched at Cullercoats at 6-30am. with the assistance of Pauline, who took the x-trail home because of the parking situation here. Headed off to a 3mile wreck, but after a few drifts with nothing to show, moved on to the next, but again.......nowt. The next one hardly showed on the sounder, so after a couple of fruitless drifts, headed to the Mars, stopping for a quick chat to Norm and Tony who had done well on the hard ground off Whitley. Arrived over the Mars which had fish showing, and was rewarded with a codling of 2-1/2lb, but the lost rig after rig to the clutter of ropes etc: down there.
Gave up with the wrecks, and headed to the can area, where as soon as I dropped the anchor, was into a fish about 4lb. continued getting fish, but nothing bigger, returned about 4 sizers and had 8 keepers.

What a cracking day to be out, but I had to be back in by 11am for my granddaughters birthday lunchtime treat.
