Day of 2 halves today
I was down the marina for 6.45, after a call to Deano went unanswered....yes...he slept in... With the gate closing i had a quick dash round to the ramp, where Deano had to wade upto his nuts to get in the boat..
Off we went into a perfect sea....
Despite the drift and weather being perfect the wreck we thought would have definately fished turned out barren, but we gave it a couple of hours anyway, and why not...sun beating down...no wind....
Off to another wreck...same again....
The 3rd wreck was better, i managed 3 off it and Deano dropped 3 fish off but managed to get 1 out, all nice fish..
The 4th wreck was even better, and i managed this one off at 8lb 2oz..
I thought that would be the biggest of the the day, but Deano isnt called Kingcod for nowt and dragged this one out out at 11lb 4oz, weighted at N.E.Tackle...
We had a couple more cod off this wreck and a few ling, a pollock just undersize, and a clonking mussel for me, which now lives in an onion sack not far from my boat....
Ended the day with 9 fish.....
Great day out...the crack was good, sun shinig, it doesnt get much better
The fish arent there in great numbers but when you find them it makes it more special....
Oh...and Deano only had one fish .....until i gave him one of my pirks..then he started to pull his weight... .....well done on the double Deano, first of the year on The Jester...
