And where do they go?
At this time of year the cod are mainly feeding on sprat and sandeel. When the sea roughs up the water colours and the baitfish become hard to find. Maybie the cod just cant be bothered to spend energy looking for food, hence...... not feeding.

We know things are bad at the moment, and the mention of how many boats will be up for sale if things don't improve soon, but next season could be a boom one for fish, then there would be a frenzy of activity to buy another boat. Patience is called for, as I'm sure things will improve very soon, I can feel it in my braidP.B. Cod 30lb-11ozs Balcary.

I'm sitting looking at grey skies and the trees are blowing about, and it's June in a couple of days..................maybe I should swap the boat for a Porsche
Mackerel will be here this comming weekend am 90% sure................__................................ .............................

The only concern is the long range "experts" say we are in for a very very windy sunny due to the jet streams out of sync but time will tell as they cant get it right 48hrs ahead.

As a consequence we got the heaviest algae blossom, which I believe is not even fully over. The sea still has a green stain to it. However, after the blossom, the algae die and fall down to the sea bed and cover it yet again.
The big seas continue to stir up this unpleasant mixture of mud, fertiliser, algae and dead algae.
Now I am not a biologist to assess how all that effect the angling...
Is it only spoiling the visibility? In that case uptiding should work
Is it poisenous or too sour (pH?)
Does it deter the bait fish? Or the bait fish food is dead (worms etc)
I think we all hope that the tides and big seas not only stir it up, but eventually clear it away. What are some 3 small river compared to the North Sea.
