I looked a few months back Chris but it was just adverts saying it was "Coming soon" and had no price attached. If they're out and thats the price (and if the results are anything like the examples) then it looks a good buy ...

Like Norman i have looked at these and the example/ selling pitch looks fantastic but i have serious doubts it will look anything like that drifting at 1knot in 200ft of water in a dirty NE sea but time will tell.
Buy one and let us know what you think so we can follow if good
i am running a 20 year old Garmin 100, crap of the crap but TBH i only use the fish finder for plotting wrecks, it never gets used for most of the trips out unless i have the odd trip to rough ground marks.................__................................ .............................

then again, no not yet as Rich says what will it be like in 200ft of cold mucky water. Need to have a few reviews first. Also, would have to be shoot thru hull as I have no intentions of putting any screws anywhere near the outside hull of Slinky . They reckon it comes only with the transom mounted transducer, but, looking at it I'm sure if mounted correctly in the right medium it would work thru hull ...... just want someone else to do it first and report back
Its a real eyecatcher though ....... if you need to know how many bars there is in the handrails of the wreck thats just taken your oirk

Yeah I agree about waiting for some positive reviews, on reading the info, it also doesn't have a route facility on it
Just looked it up another forum site and there are quite a few threads, and a few lads have bought them, but no feedback yet...... guess i'll wait a bit yet...

They look a neat little toy in the adverts but I’m with Norman about not wanting to put any holes in the hull.
I wonder if the transducer could be clipped to a bracket suspended over the transom. If that worked though, I’d probably go for one of the side-scan units. Pictures that I’ve seen from the humminbird look very impressive for some of our local wrecks. Bridge showing at one end, hatches on the decks and crumpled bows half buried..Comment

Looks good but the screen would be a tad small for my eyesight at 5.7" especially when in split screen mode. On the upside, there's no mention of any requirement for a (usually expensive) DSM module which was always needed between the unit and the transducer with previous Raymarine sonar set ups.Comment
