I\'m with sless on this one, grinner knot, got one reel that has a snap link on that was tied 3 years ago with a grinner, lost loads of rigs/traces, but the same snap link still there

Grinner knot for attaching to swivels etc, but do you recommend the same for braid to mono ? I\'m not sure if a shock leader knot would be strong enough due to the diameter of the braid.

The reason I ask is that I\'ve been told not to fill up with braid, but attach about 150yds to mono, is this the norm?

I don\'t bother with mono at all on the boat, braid straight to the link then rigs as usual clipped on the end. takes too much time and faff tying new leaders on if (when) you snag/snap

rigs always gonna be mono so is always gonna give before the braid.

I\'ve found that I usually get some of the rig back when it snaps, whereas with a mono leader its pot luck wether its the leader that goes taking the whole rig with it or justa bit of the rig

hoy the broken bits in a bucket and tie em together for next time
