      Yeah a sort of flux effect, but with a sugar cube size piece added the effect only lasted long enough to pour two pirks and I had about 20lb of molten lead in the pan.

        mabe grating some and just a sprinkle as you go its that cheap i used to buy a pound block and keep throwing bits in so i may have the amounts wrong

            Tried opening up the joint with 0.006" shims and that made no difference either

            Now thinking a bigger pouring hole might help.

            If that fails I'm just gonna call it the fish scale effect

            There are parts of the pirks that have a mirror like finish similar to that of the mould, they would be something to behold if they were like that all over.

              Don't think it's that Bert, after 20lb of lead has gone through it I can barely handle it and it's still not right.

                  warm the mold, melt less lead and get it hotter so you can poor quicker

                    keith m8, the mould need`s breather vent`s, and needs to be pre heated, wax is good and if you need more wire`s give me a shout, am not working but me m8`s are......
