Whitby charter skippers held there anual spring festival presentation at the station inn in whitby andrew waller and colin stonehouse who are landlords of the station inn sponsor the £1000 first prize along with mike clarkson from MC electricals ltd from whitby.
Once again the competition was very well supported with many anglers from all over the country taking part chaseing the £1000 first prize this spring due to the very heavy algie bloom the fishing wasnt as good as it could have been due to very poor visibilty and it went right to the very end of the festival local lad perry franklin led right to the second to last day fishing on Sea -otter with a cod of 6lb 10oz but as usuall in these competitions its never over till the fat lady sings and another local lad anthony noble managed to nail the winner fishing onboard paul eddons Trot on 11 a ling over 10lb once again a nail biting finish well done to both lads and all who entered the summer festival starts on the 22nd june and finishes on the 14th july £5000 cash prize 1st prize and over £10,000 in total cash prizes on offer for the taking so come on lads get yourself booked and give it whirl i have put a list of boats below from WCSA .
