Pirks: Plain or Fancy

I\'m going to make some jiggers for my impending once a year boat trip off Craster. Was wondering whether to use a single hook or treble, and whether to use a muppet sitting on top of the pirk or above the hook/treble or to use a seperate hook with a muppet attached a couple of feet above the pirk?. Any preffered/other options chaps?
Oh, I\'ve also just bought an old ugly stick(1481) 20lb class rod from Johns Tackle in Wallsend . It\'s 2 piece which splits at the (bloody heavy) butt section. Anyone used one ?. (cost me all of £7.50 by the way!).

I\'ve got a 20lb ugly stik solo - does me fine with 10oz sinkers / pirks.

I\'d vary your pirks, try some with or without muppets etc.
