  • Trolling

    Hi guys

has anybody got experience with trolling.

Met a few guys in Germany who do really well. Its almost like a science with all those downriggers, teasers, paravanes, trolling disks, lures etc..

I cannot see any reasons why we cannot do it and who knows might even catch the odd bass, sea trout or salmon and I am pretty sure it works on pollacks and cod over the hard grounds, maybe well over a deep wreck.

Amblecol is the lad to speak to, he has some great results using that method.. i think it was one of Normans threads on Shads not so long ago, that Col put some pics of his paravanes etc on... http://www.nesa.co.uk/forums/boat-fi...-long-now.html

I had a pair of down riggers on my explorer that I fitted for pike fishing, it's hard work using them out in any kind of swell or chop , the para vanes are probably a better bet for the sea.

It can work for Pollack and the odd cod if conditions are right (about six days a year!), I put an old video up a while back might help. If you need more about the science! pm me and see what I can do.
