  • Craster in July

Any hints, tips or advice please chaps.
We have a works trip booked in July & was after some bait & tactics tips. We had a trip out of Craster last year & me being the keen (beach) fisherman was hot favourite for winning..... I blanked. Using baited hokkais & flowing traces of ragworm, nothing. It was just after a big Northerly, would that have an impact?. Was wondering if investing in some braid would also be beneficial.
    Thanks in advance
    John.

hello john depends were your fishing if its craster skeers and your anchored mackeral, mussel, squid or similiar on a flowing trace in general that time of year have found little need for bait fish seem to prefer plain lures nothing fancy daylites or mupets should do the trick.
If theres lots of mackerel about this often seems to put the cod off, some of the old local proffessional fisherman dont like fishing after westerlies howeverhave not found this a problem, northerlies would in general stir the botom up so could effect some of the inshore marks.
there are often strong tides running off craster so braid is a good investment in my opinion.
    cheers.
