  • Far and away

Well , spent the last 8 days sorting out all my tackle ready for the off . Surprising how time consuming painting pirks / leadheads and fitting the eyes etc really is . Have now completed my wreck list also from the Farne islands down to Whitby , its amazing how many big lumps is out there . Should be finnished looking at them all by the time I\'m 70 .

Just need time and weather now . May be looking ok for sunday for a trial run though

Bob / Dave / Ian Not sure about the weather this weekend but if it turns up ok on sunday any chance of a lift LOL
Have to get a new water pump for kate (bearings disintegrated inside body, looks as if its been that way for some time)
Good job the frost got to it or else I`d have never taken to bits to check and it looks as if it was only about hours away from total destruction.

Do you know if DB Supplies stock all the products on that website Dave? wouldn\'t mind a ladle for pouring lead, been looking all over for a decent one.
                      Cheers, Keith.

Yes Bob come and have a trip out on Barries 710 (I`m sure he won`t mind me inviting you , will you Barrie LOL). Just spoke to Barrie today, we`re off to boat show together next week, he`s for a day out on Sunday as well so come over and have a look.

Keith, not sure it`s good to talk about melting lead on here LOL ask Andy, everyones got their own ideas about whats dangerous and whats dangerous if you know what I mean .... it`s all a bit dangerous if you ask me, you just got to take extra extra care.
I dont use a ladel, I just melt in a small pan, enough for 2 weights at a time (and a bit spare) and pour from the pan into the mould. I use a cheap aluminium pan from the likes of wilkinsons the £1.99 - £2.99 type of thing. Check its got a secure handle mind, then I beat and twist the rim to make a pourer spout on the left (I`m right handed). I use this until it gets a bit disfigured or the handle weakens then because of the price, just dispose of it and start another, (i get about three seasons out of a pan so its good value).
