There are quite a few video's from boat users from this forum to enjoy.
Cheers for that canman, had a look and you make it look easy. as i said to kev hopefully after a few times doing it we should get the hang of it. probably more worried about getting the van stuck. Cracking boat by the way gonna put our little starter boat into shame. will definately have to update wor boat if we get the bug. Some other canny videos with the other lads, really looking forward to getting out there.

    Cheers again pal

Hey Mark, don't knock your boat, we all started somewhere. Quite a few people jump straight in at the deep end paying a fortune, then discover boating is not for them, hence some sales say, hardly used. Se yous out there.

Looks like a break in the weather over the next few days, thinking about taking wor boat out for its first trip on saturday. Just hope we get a calm day for it.

Anyone know the best way to attach a garmin fish finder transducer to Wor boat. Just didn't fancy putting any screw holes in.
              Cheers

Most people attach them with short screws and then fill the holes and coat the screws with Sikaflex before screwing it all together, i've never had any probs with water ingress doing it that way...

No need for any holes. You can fit the transducer to the inside of the hull if it is a single skin hull. The beam fires through the hull and will still be detected. You need to find somewhere in the boat that has the sea on the other side of it, so not on top of a cabin floor or sole. The location should be as horizontal as possible and not too far forwards in the boat where the hull will lift above the water at speed.

Some people recommend putting the transducer in a bag of water then placing the whole lot in different places on the boat to find the best location, looking at how good the fish-finder signal is.

Once you’re happy with the ideal location, the transducer can be fixed into a bed of epoxy, being careful to avoid trapping bubbles in the mix; warming it helps to thin the mix and get bubbles out. An alternative it to build a small reservoir of antifreeze or oil on the preferred hull location and seal the transducer in that.

Managed to get out today and finally launch Wor little boat " mister Watson" which is named after Wor late mate by the way. Norm I knew you made launching look easy. But now after a little struggle we were out there. Enjoyed our first day out to test everything, fish finder (cheers Kev,jester) works a treat, VHF still needs a bit of sorting. Nee fish tho, but there's always next time

Well done getting out on your first trip. It’s a pity about the fishing but there’s a whole season yet to start and enough time before then to get the odds and ends sorted.
                          Did you launch from Cullercoats?

Yes pal, didn't go out that far. Still finding Wor feet, as you said just went out to find out all the snags. Should have it sorted for next trip. Enjoyed it tho, apart from my pal throwing his sarnie back up. Not a good traveller
