Wasnt expecting 2 pages of replies .
Nice to see interest though, i was thinking maybe a moderator could sort out a sticky, just for the heaviest fish from each trip to save cluttering up a thread, total catches would go in the Boat Catch Reports as usual, but just one pic and weight in the sticky.

Stewey, i see you want to include species, but i was thinking about keeping it simple, everyone wants to catch the biggest fish so i think that would gain the most interest.....and bragging rights.....

Trailer boats not a problem, and i dont think distance would be a problem, Ray up at Amble would be interested as well i think..
If you fish 30 times a month or once it shouldnt matter either, its just for a bit of fun and add to the forum interest

Still 2 months to go so plenty time to sort it out.......what do you think...

Yes Chris , put Eleda in there , it'll make me remember to take my camera if nowt else
I don't like the idea of boat competitions , I think they encourage folk to take their boats out in conditions they might not otherwise chance , or travel further out than they might otherwise do, but this sounds ok, bit of fun, no having to go out on a certain day, no having to be back at a certain time , just do your normal fishing trips and if you happen to get a biggun , post it up on the board .
Is that the sort of thing you mean?
Bit like the big fish comps in the marinas

Aye Ray, Its just to create a bit of fun and banter, no money involved, which as you say makes people take risks, just the chance to brag that you had the biggest that month

Aye Chris, it would be just posting a sigle fish pic, weight and brief description on a sticky. Then seeing who has the heaviest at the end of each month... No getting together....but you never know in the future...

...although...(I'm on laptop now so can type more )

H/F is always a winner but that said it would be interesting to maybe have a species count as well...just to see what else we are catching?

I know what you mean Tony, maybe we could have another sticky to put species in, other than cod, ling and whiting. I think it would be better to keep the H/F sticky simple, so it doesnt get cluttered with the usual banter, as this would take the fun element away from the other boat sections, which are great as they are....
You must be feeling confident those "Super Shads" are gonna do the biz....
