  • 2013...

Now that we are past the winter solstice and the days are getting longer my thoughts and dreams lead me to those early starts and sunrises over the eastern skies of the north sea...

My mind is already racing with the promise of the new season - let's be honest if anything is an improvement on the fairly average one we had this year then it can only be a good thing!

Team Slinky, I can vouch, has a few tricks kicking about in development so watch this space

From me - I wish you all a safe and Happy Christmas and look forward to seeing the usual faces and perhaps some new in 2013!

    Cheers

    Tony

        All the best Tony,
12 for me was a great start with some great bags and quality fish,
Then by the time I got home in septemberish it just stopped !!!
They were goin to hoy me over the side, they think it is jolly time every time you go out......

the Team Phantom are as daft as me and will go out any hour (or they get laft at the gate) we always prefer the early start and seamed to bag up by noon, spending the other 5-7hours plugging away.

One lad can,t sleep the night before.....lad ! He,s a young 50ish !!!!! Preparation for the trips when I get home covers everyfckinthing you can imagine in the tackle boxes, brilliant......it's took 3 years to get my boat where I want it, now I am ready to fit her out for comfort and a KETTLE, for the bad boys, so still bit to spend yet.

Although still in 2012, IF I get home before the new year, I will be puttin a last ditch in up tiding, anchoring on a hard ground mark in daylight and fish well into the dark ( if any team phantom is reading this, then they will have a semi on)

Highlight of 2012 for me is hard, but I would go on to say the day we had a pollack bigger than easyfish,s (Rob the Kingon Scaff manager) one !!!!!!.......oh the P word is banned, sorry

Constancy of 2012....early starts with no one left at the gate cryin and rhubarb and custard Sidey's.....oh ...and me blowin the tits off the Team Phantoms

The disappointment of the year.........I am away when the weather is good and fckin trash the day I land......

Anyhow, all the best..........got to go.......another Effes Murat and quick (love a blackin)

        Paul

Happy Christmas everybody , I'm looking forward to 2013 , I didn't get out half as often as I would have liked to in 2012 , I'm hoping to make up for that next year , the passing of the winter solstice always cheers me up even though I know the worst of the winter is still to come , roll on some flat seas (that's nearly one of them oxymorons eh?)

Very few highlights in 2012(well fishing wise). My best was a cod about 8lb, Lynn's about 9lb (definitely not a double!) .

3 trips at Easter blanked, 3 trips cancelled due to weather and really only one decent day for me out of nine !

2012 looks like ending the same way with our Whitby trip on Saturday looking pretty doubtful.

Oh well 2013 we have, 1 trip at Easter at Amble, one invite and 1 with Northstar, 3 in the Summer out of Whitby and October still to organise, plus hopefully a wee February trip to Whitby, if Saturday is cancelled.

I can safely say 2013 must be better, if not, we may resort to holidays in the sun and give up this malarky!!

                              Festive cheer to you all.

We are one the vino collapso already!
