  • Proposed Seaham North Dock Marina

The latest news is that there are plans afoot to make the old north dock at Seaham Harbour into a Marina. The proposal is looking for some ideas from potential users. A few of you guys that have said they would like to moor their boats if the security and facilities etc., were up to date are requested to put your interest in writing please. Some ideas are:
    Lift out facility for maintenance.
Hard standing for repairs and storage.
    Safe car parking.
Water and electric + fuel facility.
Plans are already made for a coffer dam to make the dock permanently \"wet\". Also a wave screen to prevent surge damage to boats moored in the dock during bad weather.
There is also some scope for commercial ideas, shops, clubhouses etc.
If you are interested and would like to be updated on developments, have any ideas on the facilities you would like to see, or just ask a few questions, please please, Email Norman Conn, the Chairman of F.O.N.D.S., [Friends of North Dock Seaham]. with your views and ideas. To get the marina, we need to show that boats would be coming into the dock if the security and facilities were right.
    Norman\'s Email address is:- connstorm@aol.com.
    WE NEED YOUR EMAILS
Just a couple of minutes writing the email will make all the difference if you want it to happen.

    Lets give it a whirl.
    Thanks lads.

P.S. Address or post code in the Email will verify to the powers that be that the Email is real.

Thanks for the replies lads. Lets hope all the ideas come to fruition. There is some room for a chandlers / repair shop / commercial etc in the plans. Both piers will be opened for fishing for members of Seaham Angling club with a new headquarters in the docks. A car park is already been made behind the Noth pier.
A few more replies will surely make it happen.
The Seaham Harbour Small boat club now has 30 boat owning members.
        Thanks again.
