Doc,
Thanks for the excellent info, I will certainly put it into practice this weekend at Luce bay
I have just recieved my tagging kit from richard sutcliffe so am looking forward to put it to good use this weekend. I did ask for it for taggng skate but was amazed to see it can be used for sharks as well. I appreciate the help you have given and if you ever fancy trying for skate in a small boat let me know as i can certainly help, and the sight of a 170+ fish in the back of a 16 footer is a sight that has to be seen to be believed.
My plans for the weekend are to use my skate end rig on a 12/20 class rod loaded with 30lb braid. The skate rig is 15ft of 250 mono connected to 10ft of 150 dacron as a wind on leader. This should give ample space between any tope and the braid
Tat....assuming the weather is ok the trip out of hartlepool for tope /sharks is on for next weekend (17th) and you are welcome to come along. We may blank but at least we tried I really want to catch something better than I have been getting this summer and it is going to take some doing!
On one trip I picked up the camera after asking the skippers permission, to film a fish that had been hooked. What happened over the next 30 mins is unbelievable to say the least! By the way the white boat at the end of the film is mine
