I\'ve been thinking about trying boat fishing even tho im not a very good shore angler. Should i be thinking about buying my own kit or finding a boat that hires tackle. Is there many boats that actually hire tackle? If i have to buy my own what are the basics i need?
Hope someone can help
The best advice is to lend or beg or steal and boat rod and reel then give it a bash !! You never know you might hoy ya guts up and never want to step foot on a boat ever again ..... or you might love it too bits and be prepared to keep the gear that you borrowed !!! Get out there and give it a go
Where you from ?

Welcome to NESA mate, got to agree with Bert give it a go first before you spend a fortune on gear, most Charter boats will help you out if its your first time, try for a half day trip first in case you are ill
Welcome M8. When I first went on a boat trip, didn\'t have any gear so used the bottom half of a beach caster, fixed spool reel and then obviously, weights, traces etc. Mind you that was about 15 years ago the posers with all the right gear might give you weird looks now.
