  • boat windows

    can any one help me im just about finished my boat but i cant get the new windows in. some one told me there is a knack to it with string can any one help.

    not to clever with boat windows but i know what i think you need to do
    ask a carwindscreen fitter lol

    put the glass inside the rubber seal then get a long piece of rope [ cord washing line is the best not plastic ] put the rope all around the inside of the rubber seal [ not in the same place were you put the glass if you know what i mean ] then place the whole lot in the frame ..now the tricky bit

    get 1 person to press the glass while you pull at the string all the way around [ dont press to hard tho ] and it should hitch into place pretty easily if it feels too tight pour some washing up liquid around the seal so it slides in easier,,,hope that helps craig

            lol craig , maybe its the way i said it that might of confused you

            just out of interest how much did he charge you if you dont mind me asking and was it the string pull in sort of window

            least you got it sorted anyway which is the main thing now go get some fish

              Hi fishless it cost £ 67 but that was including new rubbers for all four windows.

              The lad put the rubber around the boat first then popped the window in.

                saying as i dont know the price of the rubbers i cant say wether thats a canny price or not or a bit steep ille have to ask around for the prices

                but least ya sorted thats the main thing
