        Spectra braid

I use it when out wrecking on JFK and it is well worth the money.

It wouldn't come as a shock if I found that all our "top end" braids were manufactured in China because after all, the UK no longer manufactures anything and even Northumbrian Water is owned by the Chinese. Come to think of it, British Energy is owned by the French, Scottish Power is owned by the Spanish, EON and NWE Npower is owned by the Germans so if we poor fishermen can benefit from some foriegn imports without massive import duty, bring it on.

I've bought braid from China for the last 5 years without any problems, other than the colour splashing all over the boat.

i have used the spectra braid myself and though its as cheap as chips and good value for money,i find it wears a groove in your thumb due to the friction as its quite coarse and not greased like berkley whiplash braid.my thumb was red raw after a double boat trip over one weekend.but still a good buy for anyone.

a thimble or a cut-off thumb of a rubber glove might be the cheaper option.

Just wrap your thumb with tape, or I wear a glove.
