Hiya folks. Just thought I would give you the info on the trip out from Whitby yesterday.
The weather in the morning was very good. The skipper decided to fish the inshore wrecks around Robin hoods bay area. First drop down everyone (except the skipper) hit fish to around 6lb. Cod were the prolific species.
The same most of the day. Everyone was catching. There were 8 of us on the boat and anything that was caught under 5lb was put back. The bait we were using was squid.
Tally for the day;-63 cod, 18 ling to 9lb and a few pouting. Oh and bucket loads of mackerell.
The weather in the afternoon got a bit naughty with strong South Westerleys which pushed the boat along at a fair lick. This made it a bit uncomfortable when we were trying to fish.I also lost 200 yds of dyna braid...........
All in all though a good day was had, and a few nice fish to put in the freezer. Lets hope it continues.
