  • Another weekend Ohhhh Boy

Just come home from sea front, noon, and the sea is rolling in from the north, and with Saturdays forecast not much better than light-ish north easterly's, it's going to be a bumpy ride for anyone venturing out, especially over the Tyne bar.
Just checked the fore cast for the rest of the week, and it's easterly from now on in. Looks like the shore rod will get an airing, and the outboard a winterizing.
Hell, it's a long 6 months till March, and with the shore fishing usually crap after Christmas, am gonna be boarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrd Was thinking maybe up tiding for cod, but we don't get the run of fish like they do, or used to on the Fylde coast, so probably wouldn't be worth the effort. God, it's a short season here.
Sorry to be all doom and gloom but, if any one has any suggestions how to fill in the dark days, let's have them.

Good luck Rich, tie every thing down then. I'll have a look in the morning, but not holding out to much hope.

Hope it's not as bad as you are saying as I am off out on a charter tomorrow.
Rang tonight and he said the wind was dropping.

Yes Geoff, the latest forecast now says light winds, so hope the swell is minimal tomorrow, or it could be a long day. Hope you do well.

Aye Lads good luck if your out tomorrow, I'm having a rest and recouperation weekend.
Unfortunately I think arthurs pretty much got it spot on in the initial post in this thread ... the past few seasons we have put our rods away with a smile on the face quoting "roll on next season, it's been a good un" .... but this time those words just don't seem to ring true.
Still ..... we have good and we have bad, that way at least it's never boring or predictable, the previous 2or 3 seasons have been the best I've ever experienced so it had to have a dip somewhere..... not be long until it's spring again ........
