  • Boat catch reports?

A distinct lack of catch reports recently, has the weather been bad? Or will Lynn just have to show you lads how to catch when we come down next month??
2016 - Cod, Dab, Dogfish, Gurnard, Ling, Mackerel, Saithe, Scorpian fish. .

We were out for a few hours on Saturday but with the wind pushing us along at 3 knots nothing worth reporting.
    Cheers, Keith.

should be some reports this weekend as there is a high pressure moving in, plus, the tides will be smaller. Fingers crossed

Thanks Norman, if trying caught you fish, I'd be a superstar, rather than a guy that causes mild amusement with his rather amateurish attempts at catching a good few Cod and being routinely gubbed by a woman

The boss is away visiting the in-laws this weekend so I have everything crossed and knotted in the hope of good weather. Even when we’ve been out recently there’s been little to report. Go on Lynn, show us how it’s done!

                        Good advise:

ignore any weather forecast until the day before and even then the accuracy is poor

You are 100% correct, I totally agree with you, so why, a good week before a booked charter trip, do I start maniaclly checking the forecast.........at least twice a day !?

I look at them too, but mainly at the proper windcharts and then make my own estimate.

I plan a fishing trip for coming Sunday. The main players (guru, XC, finder and seaweed) all differ and also change day by day.

XC had a forcast on saying 6-40 mph?! Useless to anyone

In Cape Town we cancelled a trip, because a storm was forecasted and bit ourself when the commercials came in and said it was dead calm.

In Germany we went out on a forecast of 4mph offshore and we stopped fishing after an hour because of an on shore strong wind

Bottom line: We deal with nature and a very versatile and changeable nature. Most weather forecasts are just as good as a lottery forecast
