gotta agree with the general concensus on ere it should of been returned alive. Such a shame to see a great fish killed for nowt cos im pretty sure what he got for it wouldnt of broke the bank like. I understand hes a commercial fisherman an everyone has to make a living but come on he wasnt expecting it and should of stayed with his usual catch. I think maybes there should be some sort of reward for commercial fishermen returning this sort of catch with the relevant proof but suppose that'll never happenNothing makes a fish bigger than ALMOST being caught

I reckon he'd of got at least £300 for it, it's head will be on display in the fish shop window attracting the punters.
Like this:
Like I said earlier, sad, but you can't blame them, the sea is their living and if a bonus presents itself.Last edited by KeithB; 01-09-2012, 12:56 PM.Cheers, Keith.

i like the quote....
"This one was a bad, bad fish," Mr Currie said.
i think it must of been atleast slightly annoyed, with a big hook in it's gob and 3 blokes trying to pull it onto a boat..to be tagged..
anyway, i'm out tomorrow afternoon to have a look where they caught the one off hartlepool.......ya just never know....
catch and release of course...

just because your a commercial fisherman doesnt give them the right to kill everything in the sea, thats why our bass population is so crap they get a sniff of where they are and off they go bloody nets every where,
theyll be happy when nowt left
