Sorry, but my boat was a private boat. Not a charter name: irrelevant. Insurance, Yes Registered with Port of Tyne, Yes All legal and registered. Mates? really your point been?

I went out on a charter boat, posted my comments on the day. Different day with a differennt outcome would bring different comments. Is that not what forums are for, or is NESA not a place for equality and differences of opinions.

I have been boat fishing on a variety of boats for approx 15 years and I was on the Sapphire on Sunday, and i honestly have to agree with KC on the majority of what he has said.
The weather conditions were not perfect ,but some really good fish came into the boat .what i find frustrating is when you drift over a wreck time and time again ,and no fish are being caught then move on,Peter does not do this ,he would have been happy to fish the same wreck all day ,it was only after a few grumbles that he decided to move on.
Also when you have finished the drift ,Peter tends to stand and talk to the anglers instead of going back round for another drift ,there is a lot of wasted time.
This if frustrating as i pay my cash for a days fishing ,Not to stand around and natter you do this when your fishing. As for tangles let the lads sort them out ,get the boat back into position for another drift.
As for braking down i am no mechanic ,but the way he was slamming into the waves,I thought it was just a matter of time before something happened .it was unsafe he did not take into account the safety and comfort of his paying guests rushing back because you have a work shift to do is no excuse , And i would say 99% of the boats i have fished on ,take a steady pace back to port and all anglers use this time to gut ,fillet their fish and sort their gear out.
And then to add insult to injury i was accused of paying short for the party of 4 .after paying a deposit of £10 per person, even though i showed a picture of the deposit being sent and if you check your phone you will see the message i sent , i still have it on mine ,Still waiting for an apology.
I have fished on this boat before and enjoyed it ,this time it was not as good ,so you take the rough with the smooth , that's just life .
Peter is very enthusiastic and will offer guidance and help when required, and i have no doubt over time will become an excellent boat charter skipper.
But this is what a open forum is all about,Discussion!!!!!!!!. nobody is slagging Peter off believe me, take this as constructive criticism.
All in All it wasnt the best days fishing ive had but it wasnt the worst ,i had some good fish and got to see the RNLI in action these Guys do a great jobs and i doff my cap to you .and lets be honest it made for some good pictures.

Yes its a open forum , freedom of speech, there are loads of so called private boats going out the Tyne, wear, Hartlepool just amazes me how many mates these so called private boat lads have
what really gets me if you had a boat and you read the weather for yesterday and new it was strong westerly s and knowing you would be coming back on a ebb tide WHY DID YOU GO
and also why did common sense not tell you to fillet your fish on dry land

I was out in my private boat yesterday. As usual I took 3 x different wind forecasts but NONE were forecasting the wind to be as fresh as it did. Certainly not before about 4.0pm. Had the forecast predicted the wind to be as fresh as it was, I would probabally not bothered. Fortunately I went out very early so I had reasonably comfortable conditions. However heading back in was a 'mare' against the wind. Got soaked even on slow throttle.
The point I'm making is weather forecasts are often wrong. You can only go by what is forecast.

There's a few ways you could look at the full throttle situation maybe peter was worried the water would get worse so wanted to get back quick as possible is one possibility but then again the last thing you want is your boat slaming down on waves as it could be possible a tree or some big debree is floating in the water and your going that quick you fail to spot it making a nice hole in your boat however I have to Think this isn't the case as the last thing a charter skipper wants is major bills for damaged gear etc as stated before peter is on a learning curve and I Think all the comments he gets will be taken on board and make him a better skipper personally I Think we need more charter boats in our region so I wish him all the best remember we all have to start somewhere and i credit peter for having the balls to go ahead with this venture

Please excuse my ignorance, but whats the problem returning to port in a strong westerly on a ebb tide.

a negative thread ........then the wolves start to circle, sniping..

can't really see the issue here, Kc had a trip out and didn't like it so he posted a report....wow

he, and his mate had issues with a wide open throttle and a boat ride that he didn't feel safe with...wow

what is the issue ? do all posts have to be positive ?

why does Kc have to explain why he went out in the first place, who his mates are, why he wanted to fillet off on the way in.....

                    chill out watch some ABBA...
