Just got a boat reel courtesy of dave1970 (great bloke) just wondering what line or braid strength to put on it as I am not a proffessional boat angler lol! Cheers for all the advice given thanks

40 a bit light for me 50 ideal but its each to his own as ray says 40 or 50 you not go far wrong,i dont use a shockleader on 50 but if you use 40 it might be an idea

I have always used 50lb braid. Nowt flash just the stuff from China on Flea bay.

What's china braid like? Just bought some 30lb for me spinning reel, could I get away with it for me boat reels, would be for close inshore fishing no heavy wrecking, just marks around blyth & st Mary'sComment
