Got a last minute place on Tuesday. Couldnt wait to get out after mondays trip was knocked on the head with bad weather...
I was on the Boat with 11 Polish lads. all they seemed to want to do is hit the Macky all day. It was tangle after Tangle, and when 1 of them went near my Braid with a pair of Scissors there was nearly a murder ! LOL....
Couldnt get through the Mackerel to hit the ground, ended up with 3 Cod 2 5lb, with about 30 or so macky. Fished mainly rough ground. Shads wernt working. And Bait was gettin took my macky, aswell as Shads...

I mate forget to say I had about 15 macky (big ones )on the shads lol,also for about the 1st 5 hours of fishing it was wind against tide which made the drift very slow (no good for cod)they were showing but not in great numbers 3 and 4 a drift,all nice fish nothing under 5 lb,then the boss man decided to tackle up ,lucky man he is 2nd fish 12lb of fresh prime cod ,the party were all catching but not thick and fast ,one lad was putting a tiny bit macky on had a nice bag of cod ,then Dave (boss)pulled 3 out one after the other on a shad a customer had picked for him to use ,even when you,s came out beside us we were pulling cod up,at least the 10 ft swell had gone from Monday as well,nice to have a bit crack with you mate

We pray all winter for the Mackerel to show and when they do in large number we pray again this time for them to go.

Good report, shame about the mackeral spoiling the fishing. Lot of people on the piers waiting for the macky, could you not of chased them inshore.

theres some Wales out there liking the mackerel,when they do hit shore the mackerel that is, you boys will have some fun there Hugh this year

Never mind m8 better luck next time and you say you were fishing with 11 polish lads as i can imagine such a tangle and could you understand them ha-ha.

Sounds like it fished its socks today 2 of the lads had 6 stone of between them

At least you got out mate, Class it as more practise.

Would of loved to have seen ya scowl when the scissors came out bet they went back in the box rather quickly haha

I, al just stick it down to experience. Hopefully thing improve again on my next trip out...
