  • Shads

Right well, off out on the princess on Sunday so hopefully it'd be a good day reading the catch reports shads seem to be the way forward but never having used one I'm not 100% sure what i'm buying obviously range of colours although blue is predominantly the favourite by the sounds of it...

Am I right in thinking the following is a big big for what i need and i'd be better with a 6incher instead of a 9incher (dont ask the missus lol)

I just use 4 inch shads, sometimes 5 inch, they are pre weighted and hooked ready to just tie to the line, I bought a load from china on eBay and they work a treat, I think I might stow away aboard stingray though, or hide some surveilance cameras on there to see what Richy is doing that I'm not because he catches more than his fair share of big fish , he certainly knows hoe to catch the bigguns.

Yeah they are to big, the giant jig heads are designed for big cod and halibut in Norway, the 6" shad would be ok but you'd need a lead head of some sort to attach it to, you'd be best with shads 4"-6" with the weight and hook already attached, savage gear do them and also sidewinders are well worth a shot. Hope this helps good luck!!

4" you cant go wrong, green are doing well,as the season gets on i do well with white, also blue, got plenty of big ones in my bag ,well sorry had lol
4" there the boys been using them for years now never use bait, and dont put bait on them hop them over the bottom if no fish wind up and drop again ,even better if you can flick up tide a touch
just use a american swivel on main line with your weight on ,then on top eye of swivel connect another american swivel and about 2 ft of line with shad on, take the stretch out the line stops the tangles
and your ready to hop your shad good luck

My tip would be to have as many diff colours as poss m8. If your fishing with a pal you could stick and half packets. 2 shads each or summik. As sum r expensive. You'll soon get ya favourites in your head!! Ha...
GET OUT THERE AND STICK A BAIT IN IT !!!

Well good luck m8 and i wish you well and i would keep to in between 4 to 6 inch shads okay and the orange ones seem to be doing the buisness but i take a mixture just in case.
