What a lot of lads do not unstand as alan said this is your living if you book a seat on a plane and dont turn up it doesnt matter because you have allready paid some skippers are now useing payment by card and this will stop the time wasters unfortunatly at times its the lad who has booked the trip who gets let down by his mates who gets it in the kneck but think about how would anybody like it if they turned up for work and gaffer said you are working a full day for half pay your wouldnt like it the card idea is the way to go.

        No show.

Was out by myself on a boat last year when a lad turned up with one short in his party. Was a bit miffed when i was charged an extra 4 quid because of this.If it was me i would have paid his money and got it from him later.

              keep yor head down

Hi mate agree with you totalley about lads not turning up,and the rest having to take up the slack, thats how it goes,i am self employed too and for some reason i cant work i dont get paid(the same as you if the weather is bad)however i know it wasnt your fault the controversy over your licences to go out(it was quite a nasty thread)just keep your head down,do what your good at which is helping guys catch fish, report your catches, and try to keep the posts positive,i would think twice about booking a trip with a skipper
who comments on his crew, word of mouth is the best form of advertising mate
sometimes i sits and thinks, but thinks better whilst sitting on a rock fishing

Like i have said, Peter requires a deposit before your booking is secured ,which is a great idea and stops time wasters ,but i will still say you will get more anglers just booking for themselves ,then if a few dont turn up ,people just play ignorant ,and who would pay then for somebody the rest are all saying we dont no .
I would not pay a penny for somebody who could not be bothered to turn up
