Hi lads has anyone got any idea of which boat reel I should get. I have upto £80 to spend. Been using a 7000 for years but it's about time to change it. Please help.

welcome to the site mate. i use a penn 535 picked mine up reconditioned for 50 notes 2yr ago and love it. what im tryin ta say is probably better going for a quality second hand one rather than new with ya budget. have a look in the trading section on hereNothing makes a fish bigger than ALMOST being caught

I would recomend a penn 225LD. This is a nice open spool leaver drag reel, the drag is easy to adjust while reeling a fish in so that you have more control, Just incase you hook that bigun
The only thing is they dont make them anymore, but they do crop up on eBay every so often you should pick one up for well within your budget.
Then all you need is some 40lb dynon 3000 to put on itBeat them in their own back yard

Shamano TLD15 these reels rule the boat fishing, tried and owned many other types but sold them all on and purchsed more TLD 15's and 20's, solid reel, well built, able to handle anything and you can pick then up for £86 new, i paid £83 for mine and then postage................__................................ .............................
