I dont know that Diawa but i NEVER purchase any Spigot joint boat rod or more than 2 bit boat rod...thats just me i like the screw lock in butts below the reel seat.

I am also looking for a new rod as i need something with abit more stick than my 10,12 and 20lb rods i use off the Tyne just incase i get lucky.

Right on Richy m8 as that is what i use and had no bother with it and i would never use a 2 piece spigot boat rod either so good thinking

Got my eye on one of these:

Fladen Maxximus Solid Carbon Boat Rods 8ft (2pc)

Bert uses one and it's great for pirking, £60 delivered on fleabay, hmmmm, do I really need a 5th Maxximus???
              Cheers, Keith.

                lol a spigot joint?

I would take a Maximus off your hands if you wanted to feel better about buying a new rod

Aye, spigot joint but he's never had any bother, and if Bert can't knack a rod they must be good

I wanna hang on to them but you are more than welcome to borrow one for Norway, I'm pretty sure a 20/50lb would be ok over there.

Also got a couple of 30lb Ugly Stiks.

                        Which One

Found info on the Kenzaki's the 12-20lb is rated for 300g/10,5oz,
the 20-30lb is rated for 400g/14oz.
Haven't received any info as yet from Shakespeare or the two tackle dealers that I may purchase from.
Anyone out there know what the 12-20lb and the 20-30lb Ugly Stik Braid Boat are rated at.
