Under ten mtr trawlers are not forced to carry a liferaft (not compulsry ) not trying to cause conflict here but ive yet to see any angling boats carrying liferafts is it not compulsry for them not to carry one at least ?????? as there liscenced to carry 12 passengers would of thought so please enlighten me
are you sure about the ten metre rule, am suprised, every charter boat av been on has the correct amount of survival provisions for the amount of anglers on that trip, and they`ve had a legal liferaft to cover the amount on the trip. would`nt go out otherwise. ! .

was only asking about the ten metre rule m8, as myself and a few lads on here work in a ship yard, producing boats from 5 metre`s up to 40 metre`s, and they all go out with raft`s, jacket`s, and all required equipment as standard rule. a can understand a day boat, but in the clip it was a small trawller, surelley they would need a survival craft. a will ask. ! not saying your rong, or that am rite, but a will ask m8, watch this space.

Any angling boat that is fully coded not carry a liferaft is ellegal so if you are paying 10 bob and a conker to go on an angling boat beware liferafts are compulsory under the code also if the boat isnt coded that vessel will not have public liability so any angler on that vessel will not be insured you must have code of practice certificate to get public liability insurance marine insurance providers allways ask for your code number before issueing you with any liability insurance.

where do you live, a no 2 firms looking for experienced crew. !
All licensed (coded) charters boats must by law carry sufficient lifejackets, thermal protection aids, and a life raft or rafts capable of carrying the maximum number of passenger and crew the boat is licensed for so 10 passengers and 2 crew needs 12 jackets etc and atwelve man raft. There are plenty of unlicensed CHARTER BOATS operating who have no safety equipment on board or insurance it costs a lot of money to have a boat coded but at least on a licensed boat if the sh*t hits the fan you have the best chance of survival....small day boats etc do not need to carry any life saving apparatus by law but I know a lot of owners who carry life jackets and flares they are at least giving themselves a fighting chance.
SO IF PAYING FOR A CHARTER USE A LICENSED BOAT
Been on charter boats out of Amble all have lifejackets and liferafts
