    now that is what you call f***ing scary as hell,it went down so quick,a brilliant job again by the RNLI! i take my hat off to those men, brave or what

      They had the abandon ship life jackets on but why no life raft??? Just goe's to show £300 - £400 for a raft....what if RNLI did'nt get there in time if you are the water at this time of year you have'nt got long

          Yep just sorting a raft out for my boat as well

          epirb ordered and also plb's as well so fully covered

            Now thats what i call a scary moment and i am sure i would/nt have liked to be on board at that moment but well done to the RNLI at least the 2 people were saved and they did/nt seem to panic as i am sure i would of.I just wonder how it happened but thats another boat in the drink what a waste.

              whoooo scary just goes to prove you do need your safety gear aboard would be interested as to how/what caused the boat to go down and so fast

                Found it funny that the skipper had all his documents in his hand!

                The ship is sinking dave! Wait there, my log books! My passport, my drivers licence, my EU fishing licence book!

                But on a serious note... Scary stuff.

                  Under ten mtr trawlers are not forced to carry a liferaft (not compulsry ) not trying to cause conflict here but ive yet to see any angling boats carrying liferafts is it not compulsry for them not to carry one at least ?????? as there liscenced to carry 12 passengers would of thought so please enlighten me

                    All licensed (coded) charters boats must by law carry sufficient lifejackets, thermal protection aids, and a life raft or rafts capable of carrying the maximum number of passenger and crew the boat is licensed for so 10 passengers and 2 crew needs 12 jackets etc and atwelve man raft. There are plenty of unlicensed CHARTER BOATS operating who have no safety equipment on board or insurance it costs a lot of money to have a boat coded but at least on a licensed boat if the sh*t hits the fan you have the best chance of survival....small day boats etc do not need to carry any life saving apparatus by law but I know a lot of owners who carry life jackets and flares they are at least giving themselves a fighting chance.
                    SO IF PAYING FOR A CHARTER USE A LICENSED BOAT
                    Amble the place to be !!??

                        Thanks for that Monarch so how do you know when the boat your going to sea on is licensed and has insurance is word of mouth by the skipper or boat operator ???/ or is up on bulkhead in wheelhouse or do you just take for granted that it is i personaly think if your gan out to sea with people on board as passengers all shud be licensed and insured wether or not for profit or pleasure.
                        Its neither wonder we have these strict rules &regs for this type of thing and its sheer ignorant by those who dont obey or penny pinching if you like the rest have to play by the book

                            Licensed boats are issued a disc to be displayed in the window of the boat it is not unlike a tax disc for a vehicle it has the boat details and year on it ,You could also be able to check with harbour masters offices just ask which licensed charter boats operate from the harbour we have to pay our harbour £220 to allow us to operate as a charter vessel and pick up passengers from the harbour steps.....if you are boarding from a dinghy in the middle of a river or down poorly maintained ladders on a pier then chances are

                              New to posting but it is a fact that the licensed charter boat goes through rigorous checks by the MCA/RYA/YDSA to ensure the safety of fare paying passengers and sea worthiness of the vessel. I know this because over the last 6 months I have been preparing my Boat, located in Hartlepool Marina, for Sea fishing charters and have experienced these bodies going about their business, bloody stressful at times!

                              Believe me this is not a cheap business to run if you are operating safely and legally. Having viewed the video of the vessel sinking it's a sober reminder of why it is important anglers check with their skipper for insurance, qualifications of skipper and coding of the vessel. Pre requisites such as these ensure a thorough acceptable standard is achieved.
