  • Emilia Jayne - Sunday 25th

Had a trip out yesterday from Seaton Sluice at about 3:20pm. We headed straight toward a couple of wrecks about 2 miles away over towards Blyth, sea wasn’t flat but not too bad maybe 1ft 1 1/2 ft swells. There was a bit of fog around but not enough to worry about and it was a bit more windy than expected so it was a bit cold for shorts and t-shirt!

Long story short we flogged the water to a foam with feathers, daylights, hokkis, 'jaffa taped' pirks , shads, squid, lug, mackerel and the best we managed was 1 herring between 4 of us! We headed back in around 5:45 after trying 3 wrecks and had one last drop around the cliffs near the sluice but nowt doing so whilst I was tempted to head over to St Mary's, we decided against it and just went back to the harbour for the long, arduous task of unloading the boat up the harbour wall and back into the van. Spoke to another couple of chaps in the harbour on the way in and they hadn't had any luck either. Still early I know but it is just too tempting with nice weather and calm-ish seas!

Was a lovely day to be out in a beer garden - not as lovely at sea, but still nice to get out and make sure everything was working ok.

No pics Im afraid - will save them for the months ahead!

    All the best.

Well done for trying Steve. It’s still early in the season and you didn’t blank We were out just to the south of you and except for a productive half hour spent most of the day catching nothing.
